Following the decision to make a community bid to buy the Dyke Pub, the Dyke Pub Preservation Society is now mobilising! A new Facebook group has been set up to support the process. The Dyke Pub Preservation Society (Volunteer group): is for people who actively want to help in preparing the bid and fundraising, for planning in detail, organising meet ups, sharing ideas etc.

Please do join the group – there’s a lot to do and many hands make light work! You will have to answer a few questions when you request to join the group about how you might be able to contribute, and you won’t be added unless you answer them.

Plus, we still have the Save The Dyke Pub public page: (for important news and updates on the campaign to save the Dyke from development, plus the community bid) and Save The Dyke Pub closed group (for private discussion of the campaign)

Dyke Pub Preservation Society: first meeting

The first volunteers’ meeting will be held on 21st November at the Church of Good Shepherd hall from 8:30pm – 10pm. If you’re interested in supporting the community bid, then please come along!

The rough agenda for the meeting will be:

  • Update from Woody
  • Ground rules for the group
  • Roles and responsibilities – allocating people to sub-groups where possible.
  • Next steps, with actions distributed amongst the group

Please bring a bottle to share and smooth the vocal cords. See you there!
